National public transport

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is well connected by intercity rail and a national coach network.

Due to its central location, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is very well connected to other cities and regions by rail – London can be reached in two hours, Manchester in 53 minutes and Leeds in 45 minutes.

The city is also served by two coach operators connecting º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ to major destinations. Coaches can be caught from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Interchange or from Meadowhall Interchange which is a short tram, train or bus ride away.

From º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ station you can travel directly to the University’s main campus by tram, with journeys taking less than 10 minutes. To do this catch a blue route service from the tram stop at the station towards Malin Bridge. Trams run every 12 minutes.

If you fancy some fresh air it’s a 20 minute walk. Alternatively you can catch one of a number of buses from outside the station or across the road from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Interchange or you can hop in a taxi which will take around 10 minutes.

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is also well served by the national coach network and you can catch one from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Interchange or Meadowhall Interchange.


Regional train travel

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ station is managed by who operate the route between º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ and London St. Pancras via Chesterfield, Derby and Leicester.

Don’t forget that rail users aged between 16 and 25 can get a third off train tickets with a .

From º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ station you can catch a direct tram to the University by taking the blue route towards Malin Bridge.


Coach travel

coaches serve º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Interchange, which is located opposite the train station. Students holding a Young Persons' Coachcard can get a third off travel on National Express services.

and  coaches serve Meadowhall Interchange, four miles from º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ city centre. From Meadowhall you can catch a tram to the University of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ tram stop by traveling on the yellow route towards Middlewood. Alternatively you can catch a bus or train.
