The MSc brought together the areas I'm most interested in

Anshita Pasari MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Anshita's background in botany meant she was keen to specialise in molecular biology at masters level. Having previously worked on a biotechnology project, the MSc at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ offered the perfect blend to match her interests.

My research project has inspired me to pursue a PhD

Nurul Fadilah MRes Plant and Microbial Biology (Now MRes Biosciences)

For her MRes research, Nurul has been working to enhance our understanding of microbial dynamics in plant environments, which can lead to the development of new biocontrol strategies and biostimulants. Once she finishes her masters, she hopes to continue to a PhD.

My MSc research project was in partnership with the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ and Rotherham Wildlife Trust

Marie Brown MSc Biodiversity and Conservation

Marie completed her MSc research project in partnership with the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, recording bird song in the Grenoside Woods. The results she found will directly benefit the work of the trust in the future.

Abinaya Ramesh

The skills I picked up at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ played a significant role in my employability

Abinaya Ramesh MSc Human and Molecular Genetics

Thanks to the technical skills she gained on her course, including molecular cloning, Abinaya is now taking the first steps to pursue her dream of becoming a geneticist.

Benjamin Birch

The MRes allowed me to pursue my passion for tropical ecology

Benjamin Birch MRes Ecology and Environment

Benjamin's field course to Malaysian Borneo as part of his undergraduate studies at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ inspired him to continue his studies with an MRes in the school. Benjamin loved working with postgraduate students from all around the world who shared his passion for tropical forest ecology and conservation throughout his masters.

Khushboo Malhotra

The course director helped me to get to where I am today

Khushboo Malhotra MSc Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

Khushboo is now a Microbiology Laboratory Technician at Isopharm here in º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½, using the lab techniques she learnt on her course every day, and teaching her colleagues how to use them too!

Molecular Biology and Biotechnology MSc

My year studying Molecular Biology and Biotechnology MSc

Linshu Xiong Molecular Biology and Biotechnology MSc

Linshu was looking for a hands-on masters course to build on her undergraduate studies in biotechnology. This course gave Linshu technical skills training including how to use industry-standard lab equipment, ready to pursue a PhD.

Yeh Chi

I wanted to become more knowledgeable in my field of ecological consultancy

Yeh Chi MSc Biodiversity and Conservation

Following his undergraduate degree, Yeh worked for Taiwan Rivers Network but soon discovered how much he'd benefit from gaining high-level skills in conservation and biodiversity through a masters. After his supervisor recommended º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½, Yeh came to study with us and has loved getting close to nature in the Peak District.

Niall Bradshaw

I draw upon what I learned at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ pretty much every day

Niall Bradshaw BSc Biology with a Modern Language (now BSc Biology)

Niall's final year research project really helped to set the direction for what he wanted to do next. Niall chose to stay in º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ after his BSc, completing an MRes, followed by a PhD. Niall now works for the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and draws upon what he learned at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ almost every day.
