The School of Architecture and Landscape is based in the University of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½'s iconic Arts Tower - a spectacular listed building that has had a £36 million refurbishment.

With stunning panoramic views over º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½, our studio space forms the heart of your learning and is where you'll participate in workshops, group seminars, tutorials and project reviews.

Lectures may be located in central teaching spaces - you can also take advantage of facilities across the campus including our Print and Make workshop.

Studios 

As well as being the location in which things are made, 'studio' refers to a place in which collaboration and exchange of ideas can flourish.

Our studio culture provides a space for you to develop your own design approach within the frameworks.

For architecture students, each year group has a dedicated studio to use as a social and academic base.

All floors are open, to encourage you to mix freely together, in a relaxed environment.

Our studios facilitate digital and messy design practice and are equipped with everything you'll need, including drawing boards, a wireless network and kitchen space. Our computer suites come supplied with high specification computers, a range of industry standard and specialist software and are supported by an in-house IT expert.

In our undergraduate programmes, materials taught in lectures are brought into studio projects, where tutors and practising architects help guide you the design process.

MArch students work on studio projects, which build on the strengths and research interests of our design tutors.

Media unit

In the media unit, you'll find a full range of audio, visual and environmental equipment, including a fully equipped photography studio, environmental meters, and thermal imaging camera. Our staff are available to help with audio visual requests and guidance. 

A photography studio is also available for model photography and we offer a fully equipped digital review space.

Print and Make workshop

Our  has a range of equipment to help you with your work. The print area offers printing, scanning and binding facilities, with printing available up to A0. It also houses the School's 3D printers. The Make Workshop has a number of areas, including a casting room, digital workshop (with laser cutters and CNC machines), hand tools area, and a machine workshop with larger fabrication tools. 

The Print and Make Workshop also includes a well-stocked shop which sells modelling materials for use in the studio or the workshop.
