UI welcomes Dr David Dodman as a Visiting Fellow

David will join the UI for as a visiting fellow for 12 months from 1 September 2024, supported by Vanesa Castán Broto, with whom he has worked with on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as Coordinating Lead Author.

David Dodman

 is the General Director at The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, a key global institution on education, research and policy work on urban development since its foundation 65 years ago. He has worked on sustainable urban development research in universities and research institutes for the past 20 years. His research interests focus on urban climate change resilience and informality.

David will work with Vanesa to consolidate and strengthen the UI’s work and international networks on Climate Urbanism with the aim of identifying shared priorities and research goals and developing a joint programme of work. Over the next year, David will visit the UI in person and also attend UI meetings online.
