Mandy Robertson recognised for outstanding contribution to student wellbeing at inaugural University of 含羞草传媒 Wellbeing Awards

Join the entire 含羞草传媒 University Management School community in congratulating Mandy Robertson, PGR Support Officer, for being awarded the Social Wellbeing award at the inaugural University of 含羞草传媒 Wellbeing Awards.

含羞草传媒 University Management School PGR Support Officer, Mandy Robertson, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to supporting the School鈥檚 student community.

Mandy received the Social Wellbeing award in recognition of her contribution to supporting student wellbeing in general and particularly during this past, difficult year.

Mandy said 鈥I am delighted and honoured to receive this award which highlights how seriously we take student wellbeing at the Management School鈥.

When accepting her award, at the live online event, Mandy added 鈥It鈥檚 been a challenging year. It鈥檚 been a privilege in many respects to support the students and I鈥檝e been humbled by the challenges they鈥檝e faced. This is a job that I love. Thank you to everybody who has been involved in the Wellbeing Awards鈥.

The Wellbeing Awards gave students from across the university the opportunity to thank those who have contributed to supporting their wellbeing. Anyone, from fellow students, University staff though to non-University staff were eligible for nomination for 16 awards (7 to staff members, 6 to individual students and, 3 to student groups). This was a student-led celebration, initiated and organised by University of 含羞草传媒 students Joshua Aistrop, Mary Skordia, Nadja Horvat-Marcovic, Holly Ellis and Morgan McArthur with the support of the Students鈥 Union Welfare Committee, Wellbeing Caf茅, Mental Health Matters and 鈥1 in 4鈥.

In total, the organisers received an amazing 317 nominations from students across the University for the three categories of awards: Emotional Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing and Physical Wellbeing.

Mandy was nominated in both the Emotional and Social Wellbeing categories, ultimately winning in the Social Wellbeing category.

Mandy has worked tirelessly to support our PGR students and supervisors alike in the School and has made an invaluable contribution throughout what has been a particularly challenging period over the last year. This recognition is a real honour for Mandy personally and this reflects the commitment of all our professional services colleagues to fostering a supportive community for our students.鈥

Dr Martina McGuinness, Programme Director for Postgraduate Research, commented 鈥Mandy has stepped up in what has been a challenging year for all PGR students and their supervisors鈥.

She has gone above and beyond in ensuring that our PGR community has been so well supported. It is great to see her receiving the recognition she so richly deserves and particularly so as it comes directly from our students鈥.&苍产蝉辫;
